TiE-Pittsburgh is a not-for-profit network of entrepreneurs, corporate executives and senior professionals
dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship in the Pittsburgh region. The Pittsburgh chapter was founded in 2000,
and currently has 32 charter members at its core. Members of TiE-Pittsburgh have created over
10,000 jobs in the Pittsburgh region and have brought in over $600M in venture capital investment.
In addition to following the parent organization's mission to foster entrepreneurship,
TiE-Pittsburgh also gets actively involved in projects that promote business development in the
Pittsburgh region. TiE-Pittsburgh runs the iPort initiative
(www.iPortPittsburgh.com),
in partnership with Allegheny Conference on Community Development,
to attract investments from companies in India to the Pittsburgh region and to assist local companies
to do business in India. TiE-Pittbsurgh partners with Pittsburgh Technology Council to
organize an annual "entrepreneurship base camp", a premier educational event for entrepreneurs
in the region.
